Melody School
Melody School is in a Muslim village where they do embroidery work on garments that are sent all over the world. The children have given us beautiful embroidered pieces of cloth. Our school in that village provides the children with a good education and their parents come to all the school functions to see their children do drama, dance and song for the special celebrations of Easter, and Christmas.
Neither village has electricity.
Dr. Montalvo treated about 175 children and adults.

Ray of Light School
The school began with only 20 small children being taught under a tree. There were no desks or other teaching facilities. The children came in unwashed and in dirty clothes. During the summer when it rained, classes were cancelled because of flooding and there was no place for them to move to. After one year, we were able to put up a thatched roof shed which allowed a small covered place for the children to learn. The school grew to 60 which included Nursery and Kindergarten classes Now, as of the summer of 2009 we have classes ranging from Nursery to 7th grade and have an attendance of 200 children and 7 teachers. Every morning there are devotions, singing and Bible reading. They are taught their daily classes of Math, Science, English and more. The families in the village are excited that their children now have a place to learn.
Just choose a child by name and send us your information by email to larrydollie@meadelighthouseministries.org
Here is a picture of the village school and if sponsored by you I will send a picture of the child you select and a personal profile in an introductory letter.
Would you please consider sponsoring a child so they can have an education, and their spiritual and physical needs met? We teach them about Jesus at Peed school and the Hindu parents come to hear them sing about Jesus and do dramas at Easter and Christmas.
They speak Hindi as their mother tongue, but are learning English as well.

SCHOOL BUILDING UPDATES
FEBRUARY 2010
Here is update on our building progress. We started building in December 2009 and here is progress so far as of Jan. 29, 2010. We are building our first school building to house 296 children. This is the first phase and we need to build a second phase to house all the children. We are building this as the funds come in.
At Christmas we gave the children all sweaters with the school logo on them. This is the only warm piece of clothing that most have and this winter has been extremely cold for India and got down to 40 degrees. They do not have any heat in their homes and especially the village where their home is, is made of mud but are very sturdy. They cook over an open fire so they would use that to heat with as well if they have enough wood. They have to go look for the wood everyday and with everyone wanting wood it creates a problem as there are no trees to cut, etc.
We need about $1200 to give the children hats, shoes and socks. Most do not even have a pair of shoes but just sandals. God has been faithful to supply these sweaters for them, but our hearts are filled with anguish every day that we could not give them all that they need to stay warm.
We intend to dedicate this school before the next school year which will be in June or July. They were out of school for a few days due to cold weather and now they are meeting in the open air which was not good for their health.
OCTOBER 2009
We now have the plans for the building project of Ray of Light School and church building.
The following are some of the material costs.
1900 bags of cement @ approximately $6 per bag = $11,400
90,000 bricks - 3,000 bricks per truck load @ approximately $300 per truck load = $9,000 Need 30 truck loads.
Twenty five hundred dollars ($2500) will purchase the brick & cement for one class room. That room can be dedicated in someone’s memory or in the church’s name with a plaque for that room.
Perhaps your church could buy a certain number of bricks or bags of cement or build a room. By participating in this project, you are not only helping the school children but through the school and church you are touching entire families with the gospel.
We now have 290 children in the school. This building will allow us to expand to 400-500 children.
Thank you for your prayerful consideration of helping with this project. You may send gifts either to
Lighthouse Ministries or my AGWM account #2184315.
Thank you for your prayers and support over the years.
Taking Light into Darkness,
Larry and Dollie
